The Premiers of Ontario and Quebec and the Governors of eight American Great Lakes states recently signed the Great Lakes – St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources Agreement (the “Agreement”). Under the Agreement, the ten governments have agreed to act jointly in order to protect, restore and manage the waters of the Great Lakes basin and the St. Lawrence River to ensure the long-term goal of sustainable development.
